Hemmerling Missing from Duluth List
Brother David Hemmerling’s name is missing from the list of credibly accused religious in Duluth, Minnesota. [ View List ] According to a Duluth newspaper from approximately 1970, “Hemmerling was charged with inducing a scholarship recipient to come to Duluth, where, court records show, Hemmerling “did practice sodomy” on the youth.”
At the time of the abuse in Duluth, Hemmerling was working with students at the College of Saint Scholastica (see attached, text below). He was a junior monk from King of Martyr priory in Fifield, Wisconsin.
